This makes you the Curator, which means you’ll coordinate the booking and group formation through to confirmation.
Here’s how to do that from start to finish.
1. Starting a Group
Find a Property
Browse the Explore section of the app to find a property that suits your trip. Use filters for location, dates, number of rooms, or price range.
Curate a Group
Once you've found your place:
Tap “Curate Group” on the property page
Confirm your travel dates
Choose whether to claim one room or book the entire property
Allow/Invite others to join the group (see step 2)
Your payment method will be authorised (a temporary hold) — but you won’t be charged unless the group is full and the booking is confirmed
2. Inviting People to Join
Once your group is created, you’ll have access to the Booking Dashboard, where you can:
Invite existing Buenro users from your contacts or previous groups
Share a private invite link (via WhatsApp, SMS, or email)
See the status of each invite (e.g. Pending, Accepted, Paid)
You can also:
Set group visibility (Buenro Community, followers-only, private)
Decide whether users can bring +1s
3. Monitoring Progress
From the dashboard, you can:
Track who has joined
Check payment status
Send reminders
Remove inactive or unwanted members (Buenro users only)
Each group has 7 days to fill. If it doesn’t reach full capacity in that time, it will be cancelled and any payment holds will be released
4. Managing Changes
You can manage most aspects of the group before confirmation (pending):
Remove or replace members (Buenro users only)
Cancel the group entirely
You cannot:
Change the Curator role after confirmation (Feature Coming Soon: Change Curator before confirmation)
Modify check-in dates once the group is confirmed
5. Confirmation and Next Steps
When all invited guests have confirmed and payment methods are validated:
Payments are captured
The booking becomes Confirmed
You’ll get access to check-in info, the guest list, and the group chat
As Curator, your role continues during the trip: As Curator, you're responsible for check-ins, resolving group issues, and reporting problems to the property manager or Buenro Support.
Tips for Managing Groups Successfully
Only invite people you trust to participate
Keep communication clear in the group chat
Make sure everyone understands house rules, check-in times, and their payment status
Replace inactive members early if a deadline is approaching
