Now that you’ve connected Health Connect, learn how to sync your steps and distance to Healthy Cities.
The Syncing Process
To sync with Healthy Cities, you just need to open your Healthy Cities app and wait to see a ‘Last synced:' message to confirm that you’ve synced.
We recommend syncing by opening the Healthy Cities app at least once a day during your challenge.
All Healthy Cities challenges have a 72-hour grace period after the challenge ends to give you extra time to sync your final steps, so make sure you sync before the grace period is up!
Where Does Healthy Cities Get My Data?
Healthy Cities retrieves your activity information from the Health Connect application. When you establish a connection and give permission to an application, it is authorized to view and update data in Health Connect. Once permission is granted, the connected app can retrieve data from the past 30 days and any new data added thereafter.
Depending on the permissions you select, apps will transfer data to Health Connect, where it will be stored on your device and shared with Healthy Cities. You can learn more about permissions and how they work here.
