See below some of the installation issues our customers have faced previously and how to overcome them.

⚠️ The compatibility tool will not run

Antivirus or Firewalls

If you are having trouble running the compatibility tool, please check if you have any Antivirus or Firewalls installed, such as MacAfee or Norton 360. If you do, you will need to mark the Cammy compatibility tool as "safe" to download on your Antivirus/Firewall control panel.

Microsoft Defender

Windows have their own protection software which can sometimes prevent the compatibility tool from running. If you are met with a pop-up message from Microsoft Defender, you will need to click "Run Anyway".

πŸ’‘ Cammy is 100% safe and will not harm your device. We have a number of safety measures in place, to ensure the privacy of your data and the protection of your machine. See our πŸ”— Privacy policy.

No Internet Connection

In order to download the compatibility tool, the machine you are using to run it will need to be connected to the internet.

Trying to run the tool on a Mobile or Tablet

The compatibility tool is designed to check if your Windows 10+ PC or Laptop meets the minimum requirements of Cammy. If you try to run the tool on a device such as a Mobile Phone or Tablet, the compatibility tool will not run.

⚠️ My machine is not compatible

If you have run the compatibility tool and have received a message to say that your machine does not meet the minimum requirements for Cammy, we would advise against trying to install Cammy on this machine. The minimum requirements state the minimum specifications needed to ensure that Cammy can run. If you were to install Cammy onto a machine that does not have the required specifications, you are likely to experience issues with the service.

πŸ”— See our Minimum Requirements.

⚠️ The Cammy icon is appearing as a blank page

If you have carried out the installation of Cammy but upon completion, the Cammy desktop icon is appearing as a blank page and will not open, it is likely that there is something preventing the installation to complete.

Antivirus or Firewalls

If the Cammy icon is appearing as a blank page, please check if you have any antivirus or firewalls installed such as MacAfee or Norton 360. If you do, you will need to mark Cammy as "safe" to install on your Antivirus/Firewall control panel.

Please Note: Cammy is 100% safe and will not harm your device. We have a number of safety measures in place, to ensure the privacy of your data and the protection of your machine.

Missing Video player Component on Windows Pro

If you have Windows Pro N edition then your version of Windows Pro does not include Windows Media Player, Skype, or certain preinstalled media apps (Music, Video, Voice Recorder) along with several other important media playback and decoding components.

πŸ”— In order to install Cammy, you will need to install the Media Feature Pack for N editions of Windows 10.

πŸ’‘ Cammy runs best when installed on a regular Windows Pro or Windows Home install. If you do not have Windows Pro N edition and have a standard Windows Pro or Windows Home edition install, then you may need to update your Windows installation with a Windows Update.
