How to set up Call Forwarding

Caption the incoming calls made to your usual phone number by setting up Call Forwarding

Updated over a year ago

Don't want to give out a new phone number? No problem!

Call forwarding lets you automatically send calls made to your usual cell phone number to your CaptionCall app instead, so you don't have to worry about giving out your new CaptionCall number to your friends and family. With call forwarding, calls to your mobile phone number will automatically ring in the CaptionCall app.

How to set up Call Forwarding

CaptionCall makes setting up call forwarding easy! Start by opening the side menu (top left) then tap Call Forwarding:

Tap Enable:

Tap Got it!:

A long code similar to the one below will appear in your regular phone dialer. Call this code to toggle on call forwarding:

That's it! Once the call is complete, all calls to your usual phone number will now be received in your CaptionCall app so they can be captioned.

⚠️ Important Reminder: If you ever decide to uninstall CaptionCall, make sure to disable call forwarding first, so that incoming calls will resume ringing your native mobile dialer!

If you're having trouble setting up call forwarding from inside the CaptionCall app, check out How to set up Call Forwarding (Advanced) for other methods β€” or contact us!
