Referrals can be added manually in Careflow when needed, such as when receiving a referral outside of integrated systems. This quick guide shows you how to create a new referral from the Referrals page.
How to Manually Add a Referral:
From the Referrals page, click the “+” icon in the top-right corner.
A New Referral popup box will appear.
In the New Referral Popup:
Facility: Select the appropriate facility from the dropdown menu (required).
Account: Select an account (optional)
Upload Files:
You can drag and drop files or click to upload supporting documents (such as face sheets, clinicals, or insurance cards).
This step is optional but recommended if documentation is available.
Click “Create Referral” to submit.
What Happens Next:
A new referral record is generated.
You can then open the referral to enter demographics, clinical details, tasks, and notes as needed.
The referral will now appear in the Referral Index and follow the standard workflow.
Quick Tips:
The minimum required step is selecting a facility, everything else can be added later.
Files can also be uploaded later from within the referral record if not available at the time of entry.
