Short Answer
Currently, native checkout redemption is only available for Shopify Plus stores — because applying discounts directly at the Shopify checkout requires Checkout Extensibility, which Shopify restricts to Plus plans.
However, Checkout Extensions are coming soon to Casa Loyalty for all stores — see below.
For Non-Plus Stores (Current Options)
If you're not on Shopify Plus, customers can still redeem their points — just not at the checkout itself. Instead, they:
Open the Casa Loyalty widget on your store (the floating launcher).
Click to redeem their points — a discount code is generated.
They copy the code and paste it at checkout in the discount code field.
This works for all reward types (percentage off, amount off, free shipping, etc.).
Checkout Extensions — Coming Soon
Casa Loyalty is building dedicated Checkout Extensions that will allow points to be redeemed directly at checkout for all stores. These will appear in Branding → Checkout Extensions once released:
Redeem points dropdown — Elevate the checkout experience with effortless point redemption.
Redeem Points Input Field — Enable point redemption at checkout with an extension tailored for incremental rewards.
Potential Points Banner — Add a call to action to display potential points upon completing checkout.
Refer Friends After Checkout — Encourage customers to refer friends after purchase and earn rewards.
Apply Reward Dropdown — Display redeemed rewards available for direct application during checkout.
All five are currently marked Coming soon. We'll update this article when they launch.
