The Discount API setting (Casa Loyalty → Settings → Discount API) controls how discount codes are generated when customers redeem loyalty rewards. Choosing the right method ensures discounts apply correctly at checkout for your store's setup.

When a customer redeems points for a reward (e.g. a percentage-off coupon), Casa Loyalty generates a Shopify discount code behind the scenes. The Discount API setting determines which Shopify API method is used to create that code. Depending on your Shopify plan and any third-party discount apps you use, one method may work better than another.

If customers are reporting that their reward codes aren't applying at checkout, or if you're using Shopify Functions for discounts, changing this setting may resolve the issue.
