Utilize announcements and Chalk Talk to send out messages for the event.

When creating an Announcement, you can choose to send a message out to just the event track. So all people who have the event membership or whoever you added manually to the track will see the Announcement.

Same goes for Chalk Talk - whoever has access to the event track will be able to see the messages.
