If multiple athlete profiles need to share the same billing account—without using a sub-account (which requires a shared email)—follow these steps.
Why Not Use a Sub-Account?
Sub-accounts use only one email for access. However, in cases like:
A husband and wife who each want separate accounts but share billing
A parent and an older child (teenager) who wants their own login, but the parent still pays
A linked billing setup is the better solution.
How to Link Billing Accounts
Cancel any active memberships on the account you want to change.
⚠️ Do NOT make changes to the billing account holder’s profile.
Go to the athlete’s profile that needs to be linked.
Under Member Info, find Billing Information.
If a membership is still active, you’ll see the error:
"Stripe customer ID cannot be changed while member has an active membership."
This is why Step 1 (canceling the membership) is necessary.Once the membership is canceled, check the box for "Link Billing to Another Member" and select the primary billing account.
Restore the athlete’s membership. If you canceled before the next billing cycle, you can offer a Free Trial until the next renewal date.
