To help ensure your payments go through smoothly, here's what you need to know about timing when paying bills with Chexy.
Payment Frequency Options
Chexy offers flexible scheduling to match your needs:
One-Time — Make a single payment whenever you need to
Weekly — Automatic payments every week
Bi-Monthly — Automatic payments twice a month
Monthly — Automatic payments that repeat on the same date each month
Quarterly — Automatic payments every three months
Recurring Payments
Set it and forget it! Choose your frequency and Chexy handles the rest.
Minimum setup time: 4 business days before your chosen due date
Activation deadline: 9 PM ET, 4 business days before due date
Card charge time: Approximately 4 AM ET, 4 business days before due date
Payment sent: On your scheduled due date
Important: When setting up a recurring payment, choose a due date that's at least 4 business days in the future. This date will repeat automatically based on your chosen frequency, so you're all set going forward.
What If You Activate a Recurring Payment Late?
No stress! If you set up a recurring payment after the 4-business-day deadline, we'll simply schedule your first payment for the next occurrence instead.
Example: If your rent is due on the 1st and you set things up on the 27th (less than 4 business days away), your first payment will go out next month on the 1st. After that, you're on autopilot! 🚀
One-Time Payments

Card charge time: Your credit card is charged immediately when you activate the payment
Payment sent: 4 business days after your card is charged
No advance setup required: You can activate a one-time payment whenever you need to
Need It Faster? Rush Payments
If you need your payment sent sooner, Chexy offers Rush Payments. Instead of waiting the standard 4 business days, you can choose to have your payment sent in 1 or 2 business days.
When setting up a one-time payment, look for the ⚡ green lightning bolt icon underneath available payment dates — this indicates a rush option is available for that date.

Why We Need This Time
We know waiting isn't fun, but here's why the timing matters: we need to process your credit card payment, let the funds settle safely in your Chexy Wallet, and then deliver the payment to your payee right on schedule. This ensures everything goes through without a hitch!
