Can I pay my utilities through Chexy Wallet?
Updated over 2 weeks ago

Yes, you can use Chexy to pay utilities, but only if:

  1. Your utility provider accepts Bill Pay.

  2. You use the one-time payment option (since utility bills often vary in amount).

How to Pay Utilities with Chexy:

  • Check if your utility provider is a registered Bill Pay payee—Chexy can only send payments to registered Bill Pay recipients.

  • Use the one-time payment option to manually pay your bill each time it's due.

  • Enter the correct account number when setting up the payment—this ensures your provider applies the payment to your account correctly.

Important Considerations:

⚠️ One-time payments cannot be scheduled in advance – You must manually submit each payment when due.
⚠️ Your credit card is charged immediately when you initiate the payment.
⚠️ Payments are issued 3 business days after your card is charged, and your provider may take up to 5 additional business days to mark the bill as paid.
⚠️ To avoid late fees or service interruptions, submit your payment well before the due date to allow for processing time.

If your utility bill is the same amount each month, you can set up a recurring Bill Pay payment instead. However, for variable utility bills, one-time payments are the best option.
