What Are Message Boards?

Chronotek Pro’s message boards are built to simplify communication for your entire workforce. Say goodbye to scattered texts and missed calls—everything’s organized in one central place, so your team stays in the loop and nothing slips through the cracks.

Three Types of Message Boards

Chronotek Pro gives you the right tool for every kind of message. Here's how each board works:

1. Company-Wide Announcements

  • Purpose: Share important info with your whole organization

  • Key Features: One-way messages—no replies from employees; deliver immediately or at their next clock-in

  • Best For: Policy changes, holiday hours, company-wide events, required training, or urgent alerts

Examples:

  • “Due to anticipated snow tomorrow, please allow extra travel time to job sites. Safety first!”

  • "Just a quick note that you are valuable and appreciated. Keep up the great work!"

  • "Effective June 1, all employees must wear company-issued ID badges while on customer premises."

2. Team Boards

  • Purpose: Open communication within specific Teams

  • Key Feature: Everyone on the Team can post and reply; or make a Team announcement delivered immediately or at their next clock-in with no reply

  • Best For: Day v. Night teams, task-specific teams like floor care, and Teams grouped by geography.

Examples:

  • “Floor team — the new wax is at the warehouse. Pick it up before your shift today.”

  • "Downtown team - heads up about the festival this weekend. Parking will be limited, so arrive 15 minutes early."

  • "Night team - the new security protocols start tonight. Remember to check in with the front desk before accessing the 3rd floor offices."

3. Job Boards

  • Purpose: Share updates tied to specific job sites

  • Key Feature: Automatically includes anyone who worked the job in the last 28 days or is scheduled in the next 28 days

  • Best For: On-site updates, alarm code updates, special instructions

Examples:

  • “Lakeview Towers — Please see the updated job instructions posted yesterday.”

  • "Brionne Tower — The alarm code has changed. Please check the app. Both day and night crews must use this new code starting immediately.

  • "ABC Bank — The hot water is currently not working in the janitor's closet at Main Street Office. Maintenance has been notified and will repair it by Wednesday."

Best Practices for Using Message Boards

📝 Keep It Clear

  • Start with the most important info

  • Use everyday language

  • Break long updates into bullets when possible

📌 Use the Right Board

  • Company Announcements: For messages everyone needs

  • Team Boards: For group-specific conversations

  • Job Boards: For location-based details

⏱ Control Delivery Timing
Choose how and when employees get messages:

  • Immediate: For urgent news

  • Next login: For info that can wait, but they need before clocking in

🚨 Use “Must Read” for Critical Info
When enabled, your message will:

  • Take over the employee’s screen when they open the app

  • Require acknowledgment to proceed

Pro Tips

Automatic Translation: Messages appear in each employee’s preferred language—no extra steps needed.
📩 Private Messaging: For one-on-one chats, use the private messaging feature.
📱 Mobile-First: Message boards look great and work fast on smartphones.
