Trainer assignment happens inside the Class Details panel when you pick a class for a time slot. Assigning a trainer is what unlocks their dials — the Trainer Dials in a Live class, or the Free Style Dials in a Free Style class.
Do I have to assign a trainer?
Whether a trainer is required depends on the class type:
Free Style — required. A Free Style class cannot be saved until you assign a trainer. A Free Style session has no pre-set class profile, so without a trainer on the Free Style Dials there is nothing driving the class at all.
Live — not required to save, but assign one anyway. A Live class will save without a trainer assigned, and the class will still run. But the trainer will not get the Trainer Dials on their own device, which means they cannot see the current and next interval, change the leaderboard metrics during the class, or start challenges. They would be teaching the class blind.
Virtual — no trainer needed. A Virtual class is pre-recorded with an on-screen instructor and plays automatically.
Step-by-step
Open the Schedule page in
studios.ciclozone.com.Click the time slot where you want to add the class. The Class Details panel opens on the left, the Library on the right.
In the Library, switch the Class Types toggle to Live or Free Style.
Apply filters if helpful (time, intensity, average RPM, stand-up cadence range).
Tap a class preview → Select.
In Class Details, assign the trainer from your team list.
For Free Style, also set an end time shorter than the maximum duration shown.
Click Save to confirm the class on the schedule.
The class now shows in that time slot with the assigned trainer's name against it.
What the trainer needs
For the dials to unlock for the assigned trainer:
They must have been invited to your studio via the Team tab.
The email on their CicloZone app account must match the one used in the invitation.
If both checks pass, the dials appear automatically when they join the class on their phone (swipe left past the Rider Dials and leaderboard).
Re-assigning or transferring a slot
You (Studio Owner): open the slot in the scheduler, change the trainer, Save.
The trainer (with Choose permission): open their assigned slot in Trainer Web Access, use the dropdown → Transfer to hand the class to another team member.
