What Does it Mean when Schools have ‘Cancellations Enabled’?

If you see ‘Cancellations Enabled’ displayed under a school’s name in your list, it means that school has chosen to turn on a feature that allows casuals to cancel accepted bookings directly through the ClassCover app.

This optional feature creates more flexibility and smoother communication between schools and casual teachers when changes are needed.

What You Need to Know

  • This feature is optional for schools. Not all schools choose to enable it.

  • If cancellations are enabled, you’ll see a Cancel button in your Accepted Bookings on the ClassCover app.

    • When cancelling the booking, you'll be asked to provide a reason.

  • If a school has not enabled cancellations, you won’t be able to cancel a booking via the app. In this case, you’ll need to contact the school directly to let them know you can’t attend.

How to Know if You Can Cancel a Booking

  1. Open the ClassCover app.

  2. Tap the Bookings tab.

  3. Go to Accepted Bookings.

  4. Tap on the booking you want to check.

  5. Tap the Cancel button (this button is always visible).

When you tap Cancel:

  • If the school has enabled cancellations, you’ll be prompted to enter a cancellation reason and then submit it directly through the app. The school will be notified automatically.

  • If the school has not enabled cancellations, tapping Cancel will show the school’s contact details only. You won’t be able to cancel through the app—you’ll need to contact the school directly to cancel the booking.
