Managing last-minute changes is part of school life. ClassCover’s Opt-In Cancellations feature empowers casuals to cancel bookings directly through the app, ensuring schools receive immediate notifications and can act swiftly to find replacements.

What Is Opt-In Cancellations?

Opt-In Cancellations is an optional feature that allows casuals to cancel previously accepted bookings via the ClassCover app. When enabled, schools receive instant notifications – both email and push – whenever a cancellation occurs. This feature streamlines communication and helps maintain accurate booking records.

How It Works for Schools

  • Enable the Feature: Admins can toggle Opt-In Cancellations on or off in the Admin Settings section of ClassCover.

  • Receive Instant Notifications: When a casual cancels a booking, all school admins are notified immediately via email and push notification.

  • Quick Rebooking: Notifications include a direct link to the booking screen with pre-filled job details, allowing for swift rebooking.

  • Calendar Updates: Cancelled bookings are automatically reflected in your school calendar for easy tracking.

How to Enable In-App Cancellations for Your School

  1. Log into ClassCover (Desktop Version)
    Access your ClassCover account on your computer.

  2. Go to Admin Settings
    Navigate to Admin Settings and scroll down to the In-App Cancellations section. Click Edit.

  3. Enable the Feature
    Toggle the In-App Cancellations feature to ON. A pop-up will prompt you to download the ClassCover app (if it's not already installed) to receive push notifications for cancellations.

  4. Confirmation and Notifications
    Once enabled, you’ll receive an email notification for each cancellation, along with a link to rebook the casual. Cancellations will also appear in your school calendar for easy tracking.

How Casuals Cancel a Booking

Casuals can cancel bookings through both the desktop and app versions of ClassCover:

  1. Log in to their ClassCover profile and navigate to the Calendar.

  2. Select the booking they wish to cancel.

  3. Click on Cancel Booking and provide a reason for the cancellation.

  4. Confirm the cancellation.

Without In-App Cancellations

If your school chooses not to enable this feature, your school's ClassCover profile will need to display an emergency contact number and email (other than the school landline) so casuals can reach out directly in case of cancellations.

Casual Visibility

Casuals can see which schools have enabled the Opt-In Cancellations feature by visiting the My Schools section in their profile. This transparency helps them manage their commitments effectively.

Efficiently Manage Cancellations with Reopening and Cloning Bookings

To streamline the process of filling unfulfilled bookings, ClassCover offers a Reopen and Clone Bookings feature. When a casual cancels, schools can quickly reopen or duplicate the booking to assign it to another casual, saving time and ensuring continuity.
