Brisbane Catholic Education Verification: A Guide for Relief Staff

If you have any queries regarding your Brisbane Catholic Education (BCE) verification status, please note that while ClassCover displays the status, the process is managed by the BCE Relief Staff Team.

To check your verification status, please contact the BCE Relief Staff Team via reliefstaff@bne.catholic.edu.au.

If you’re looking to work at Brisbane Catholic Education (BCE) schools, you’ll first need to set up a free ClassCover profile. BCE uses ClassCover to ensure all relief staff meet the required standards before starting work at their schools.

Once relief staff positions become available, BCE will contact you to process your application.

What You’ll Need Before You Apply

Before you submit your BCE verification, please review the BCE Relief Teaching Page for information on eligibility requirements.

If you haven’t already, you’ll need to create a free profile on ClassCover – as we are the elected platform used by Brisbane Catholic Education (BCE) schools to connect with and book relief staff.

How to Submit Your BCE Application

Once your ClassCover profile is set up, follow these steps to submit your BCE verification:

  1. Log in to ClassCover

    Access your profile and scroll down to the Brisbane Catholic Education Schools section.

  2. Answer the Work Eligibility Prompt

    When asked, “Are you planning to work in Brisbane Catholic Education Schools?”, select Yes.

  3. Complete the Questionnaire

    A short questionnaire will appear. Fill in the following details:

    1. Location preferences

    2. QCT or Blue Card number

    3. Contact details

    4. Work rights eligibility

    5. Your CV

    6. Roles you’re interested in

    7. Safeguarding questions

    8. Teaching levels and subjects

  4. Submit Your Information

    After completing the questionnaire, click Save to submit your answers to the BCE Relief Staff Team for verification and approval.

Your profile and verification will then be reviewed by the BCE Relief Staff Team, and you’ll receive notifications from BCE with any updates.

What Happens Next?

After submitting your application, the BCE Relief Staff Team will review your details. While you’re waiting for approval, we recommend:

  • Keeping your ClassCover profile and availability up to date.

  • Ensuring you have uploaded a professional photo and filled out your bio and experience on your profile.

  • You download the ClassCover App and turn on push notifications so you never miss a booking opportunity.

Can You Still Find Work While Waiting?

Yes! Even while your BCE application is under review with the BCE Relief Staff Team, you can still explore other opportunities using our Find New feature. With over 3,500 schools on ClassCover, there are plenty of options to connect with other schools in your area.

Make sure your availability is up to date and your notifications are switched on – you might get a booking even before your BCE approval comes through.

After You’re BCE Approved

Once BCE approves your verification, your profile will become visible to all BCE schools across Queensland. From here, you can:

  • Start receiving direct booking requests from BCE schools.

  • Be included in their search results when schools look for relief staff.

  • Accept and manage bookings all in one place through ClassCover.
