Managing Bookings on ClassCover: How to Update, Edit, or Cancel a Booking

Managing casual bookings is simple on ClassCover. Whether you need to update booking details, make adjustments, or cancel a booking, it can all be done in just a few clicks from your phone or computer.

Important Note:

While you can edit key details like times, attached notes, or payroll information, the booking date itself cannot be changed. This is because the casual has already confirmed their availability for the original date. If the date needs to be changed, you’ll need to cancel the existing booking and create a new one for the correct date.

Updating or Cancelling a Single Booking

  1. Go to the Calendar

    Access the Calendar tab on the desktop or mobile version of ClassCover.

  2. Locate the Booking

    Find the specific booking you want to update or cancel in your calendar.

  3. Click on the Booking

    Click on the booking. A pop-up will appear with options to either Cancel or Edit the booking.

Cancelling a Booking:

  • You’ll be prompted to enter a message explaining the reason for the cancellation.

  • After providing the reason, click Confirm to cancel the booking.

  • The casual will receive an email confirmation about the cancellation.

Editing a Booking:

  • You can update any details of the booking, such as dates or times, in the pop-up window.

  • After making the changes, click Save to confirm. The casual will receive an email with the updated details.

Updating or Cancelling a Repeating Booking or Multiple Bookings

If you need to cancel or update a single day of a Repeating Booking or multiple separate bookings, follow these steps:

  1. Go to the Calendar

    Access the Calendar from ClassCover on mobile or web.

  2. Click on ‘Bulk Actions’

    At the top of the calendar, click Bulk Actions.


  3. Search for the Booking

    In the pop-up window, search using the name of the casual and the date range of the booking(s) you want to update or cancel.

  4. Select the Booking

    Once the results load, select the box next to the booking(s) you wish to cancel or edit.

  5. Cancelling a Booking:

    1. After following the steps as above, click Delete after selecting the bookings you want to cancel.

    2. The casual will be notified of each cancelled booking.

  6. Editing a Booking:

    1. Edit the fields you wish to update and click Update once completed.

  7. After reviewing, click Confirm to finalise the cancellation or edits. A confirmation message will appear at the bottom of the screen to confirm the action.

Additional Feature: Opt-In Cancellations

ClassCover also offers Opt-In Cancellations, which allows casuals to cancel bookings directly through the ClassCover app. As a school administrator, you will be notified immediately via push notifications and email when a casual cancels their booking.
