All NSW DET staff must complete a range of mandatory training to comply with departmental and legislative requirements. Mandatory training is required when staff enters the department as part of the induction process and on an ongoing basis throughout employment. This applies to all permanent, temporary, and casual staff, both school-based and non-school-based.

Mandatory training is required when staff enter the department as part of the induction process and on an ongoing basis throughout employment and includes:

Fraud and Corruption Control NR33012 - Annually
Code of Conduct Online NR27345 - Annually
Data Breach Response Plan - Reporting Data Breaches NRG12326 - Every 5 years
Anaphylaxis e-learning Teaching and Administrative Staff NRG01569 - Every 2 years
Anti-Racism Policy Training NR30069 - Every 2 years
Child Protection Update 2024 NR41255 - Annually
Cyber Security training – All staff NR31133 - Annually (Formerly known as: Cyber Security NSW Essentials training)
e-Emergency Care NRG14190 - Every 3 years
WHS Induction for employees NR33383 - Once

Aboriginal Cultural Education Training AC00560 - Every 3 years

Public Interest Disclosures – reporting serious wrongdoing

NOTE: As of 04 May 2024, non-completion of the Public Interest Disclosures – reporting serious wrongdoing course will turn your verification status into Partially Verified.
