How to manage orders on the Orders page

Track and manage every order from detailing to ready, and report order issues from one page.

Written by George

The Orders page tracks every order from creation to collection or delivery. Find it in the sidebar. Orders move through up to three stages: Detailing, Cleaning and Ready. The Issues tab keeps track of any problems with an order along the way.

Create a new order

Select New Order in the top right corner. Search for the customer and continue to create the order.

Filter and search orders

These options work on each tab:

  • Search: use the search bar in the top right.

  • Filters: filter by section (like dry cleaning or laundry), due date, express orders, order type (in-store or pickup and delivery) and created date.

  • Totals: see the number of orders, pieces and weight on the page.

  • Views: switch between compact and full view, and refresh the list.

  • Print: select an order and print a customer copy, store copy or bag labels.

Select an order ID, customer or summary to open more details.

Detailing

Detailing is an optional stage where you itemize orders before production. It’s useful for quick drop and pickup and delivery orders, where you don’t know what’s in the bags until they arrive. The Detailing tab only shows if Detailing is turned on in your settings.

  1. Go to Orders > Detailing.

  2. Select Detail on the order.

  3. Add items or enter the weight.

  4. Select an item to add upcharges, notes, damages, stains, brand, style, pattern or material.

  5. Use the copy icon to apply the same details to identical items.

  6. Select Apply to order, then Detail order.

Once an order is detailed, the system calculates the full price.

Note: The Detailing tab only appears when the Detailing stage is enabled in your settings. If you can't see this tab, enable the Detailing stage from your settings first.

Cleaning

The Cleaning tab shows orders in production, including washing, drying, ironing, folding, wet cleaning and dry cleaning.

Mark an order as cleaned

  1. Go to Orders > Cleaning.

  2. Select Cleaned on the order.

  3. Enter the rack location, number of bags and number of hanging items.

  4. Select Submit.

Mark several orders as cleaned

  1. Select the orders, or select the checkbox at the top to choose all.

  2. Select Batch clean.

Batch clean doesn’t ask for the rack, bag count or hanging items. You can add the rack location later on the Ready tab. If you want the pop-up each time, mark orders one by one.

You can also scan the barcode on the order receipt, then scan a barcode on the rack to assign the order to it. To change an order, select the pencil icon.

Ready

The Ready tab shows orders waiting to go back to the customer. For each order you can see the customer, summary, notes, bags, pieces, hanging items, rack location, days since ready and whether it’s paid or unpaid.

Return an order to the customer

  1. Go to Orders > Ready.

  2. If the order is paid, select the button to mark it as collected.

  3. If it’s unpaid, select Payment. Choose a payment method, add a tip if needed and select Pay. For cash, enter the amount tendered to see the change due.

Return several orders at once

Select the orders and use batch ready. The total due shows for the orders that still need payment.

Update a rack location

Hover over the rack location, enter the new one and select Save.

A van icon marks delivery orders and a lightning bolt marks express orders. We recommend marking deliveries as delivered in the driver app, but you can do it from this page too.

Issues

Use the Issues tab to flag a problem with an order so your team knows about it and nothing gets missed. The number next to the tab name shows how many issues are open.

Report an issue

  1. Go to Orders > Issues.

  2. Select New Issue.

  3. Select the order the issue is about.

  4. Describe the issue.

  5. Submit.

The issue appears in the list with the order ID, customer, issue, stage, ready by date and who reported it and when. Orders that are past their ready by date show as overdue.

Solve an issue

  1. Go to Orders > Issues.

  2. Select Mark Solved on the issue.

  3. Add an explanation of what was done.

  4. Submit.

Find past issues

The tab shows Open issues by default. Select All to see solved issues too. To find a specific issue, use the search bar or refresh the list.
