Payment Settings

How to configure payment methods, rounding, and payment provider integrations.

Written by Rafael

Go to More > Settings > Store Settings > Payments & Discounts > Payments to set up how your store accepts and processes payments.

General Settings

  • Default Payment Method: Select the payment method applied by default. Options include:

    • Cash: Take full payment in cash.

    • Card: Take an external card payment using a non-integrated terminal. This doesn't process an actual transaction.

    • Pay on Collection: The customer pays when the order is ready.

    • Check: The customer pays by check.

    • Bank / Wire Transfer: Payment is sent bank-to-bank.

    • Invoice / On Account: The customer pays later via invoice, typically for business accounts. This can be restricted to business accounts only.

    • Partial by Cash / Partial by Card: The customer pays part now and the rest on collection.

    • Saved Card: Payment is taken immediately from the customer's saved card.

    • Integrated Terminal: The customer taps, swipes, or inserts their card on an integrated terminal.

  • Auto Charge Saved Card When Order Cleaned: Automatically charges a customer's saved card once their order is marked Cleaned and moved to Ready. Useful for Pickup & Delivery, since it removes the need for drivers to handle payment. Options:

    • Never: Auto charge is disabled.

    • All Orders: Applies to every order.

    • All Orders & Group Payments: Charges customers with multiple orders sharing the same ready date in one grouped payment.

    • Pickup & Delivery Only: Applies only to pickup and delivery orders.

    • Pickup & Delivery Only & Group Payments: Groups pickup and delivery orders with the same ready date into one payment.

  • Round Order Total: Rounds the final order total to the nearest $0.02, $0.05, or $0.10, and applies it to cash payments only or all transactions. For example, rounding to the nearest $0.05 means totals ending in 1¢ or 2¢ round down, and totals ending in 3¢ or 4¢ round up. Rounding applies at the point of payment and doesn't apply to batched orders.

  • Cash Payment Discount (%): Enter a percentage to automatically discount orders paid in cash. This doesn't apply to invoices. If your default payment method is Cash, the discount applies to all orders automatically.

  • Allow for Partial Payment: Toggle on to let customers pay part of their order now and the rest later.

  • Require Payment for Retail Orders: Toggle on to require payment before completing a retail sale.

  • Optional Payment Methods: Toggle on any additional methods you want available at checkout: Cash, Card (non-integrated), Check, or Bank/Wire.
