Conditioning Library

Updated today

Overview

The Conditioning Library allows you to save and reuse commonly programmed conditioning pieces directly inside CoachRx.

With this update, what was previously labeled **Mixed Modal** in the workout builder is now renamed to **Conditioning**. This change reflects how coaches actually program- circuits, AMRAPs, EMOMs, intervals, aerobic work, and anaerobic work all now live under Conditioning.

Just like the Exercise Library, you can build and store a structured library of conditioning pieces inside your **Index**.

What Changed

  • "Mixed Modal" has been renamed to Conditioning throughout the platform.

  • New naming convention for saved conditioning pieces: Name, Format, and Description. For example:

    • "Fran" - Name

    • 21-15-9 - Format

    • Thruster / Pull-Ups - Description

  • You can now save conditioning pieces to your Index and reuse them across clients and programs.

This brings conditioning into the same systemized workflow as exercises, warm-ups, and cool-downs.

How to Save a Conditioning Piece

There are two ways to create and save a conditioning piece.

Option 1: Save from the Workout Builder

  1. Open a workout and add a Conditioning block.

  2. Build the conditioning piece as you normally would.

  3. Click the Save to Library icon.

  4. Give the piece a clear name.

  5. The conditioning piece now appears in your Conditioning Library inside your Index. It will also show up as you type into the conditioning block while programming.

Option 2: Create Directly from the Index

  1. Go to the Index.

  2. Select Conditioning Library.

  3. Click Create New.

  4. Build the conditioning piece using Name, Format, and Description.

  5. Click Save.

This creates a template before inserting it into any workout.

Using a Saved Conditioning Piece

  1. Open the Workout Builder.

  2. Add a Conditioning block.

  3. Select from your Conditioning Library.

  4. Insert into the workout.

  5. Edit if needed- edits inside a workout do not overwrite the original library template.

Adding Demo Videos

When saving a conditioning piece, you can attach demo videos that align with the exercises inside the conditioning structure. Demo videos travel with the conditioning piece when it's inserted into workouts.

Tips & Best Practices

  • Name clearly- Use consistent naming conventions (e.g., "Aerobic Base 30 - V1").

  • Save structures you plan to repeat- Think progressions, not just sessions.

  • Separate training from testing- Label benchmark pieces clearly so you can track them over time.

  • Version instead of overwrite- Save new progressions as separate pieces instead of modifying originals.

FAQs

Why was Mixed Modal renamed to Conditioning?

Conditioning more accurately reflects how coaches prescribe aerobic and anaerobic training.

Can I edit a conditioning piece after inserting it into a workout?

Yes. Edits inside the workout will not change the original saved template.

Can I attach demo videos?

Yes. Demo videos can be added when creating or editing a conditioning piece.

Is the Conditioning Library separate from the Exercise Library?

Yes. Conditioning has its own dedicated library within the Index.

Will my old Mixed Modal pieces still work?

Yes. Existing pieces are now categorized under Conditioning automatically.

Can I view exercise or conditioning history for saved pieces?

Yes. Exercise and conditioning history is searchable inside the Conditioning Library. If a conditioning piece has a specific name, CoachRx will show history tied to that exact piece. If a piece is unnamed or format-based (e.g., "3 Rounds for Time"), CoachRx will show history across all sessions that match that format. This allows you to track benchmarks, review performance across commonly used formats, and analyze trends whether you program by name or by structure.
