Coach Video Upload - Add Exercise Demo Videos by Link or Upload
CoachRx has a refined way to add demo videos to your exercises. You can still paste a YouTube or Vimeo link like before, and now you can also upload your own video file straight from your computer. Either way you get a live preview so you know it is the right video, and uploads show a clean progress bar while they finish.
Two ways to add a video
Paste a link. Drop in a YouTube or Vimeo URL. A live preview appears right away so you can confirm the video before you save.
Upload your own file. Click Upload to pick a file, or drag and drop it straight into the video bar. A progress bar shows how the upload is going, and you can keep working while it completes.
ℹ️
Link and file upload are one-or-the-other per exercise. Pasting a link clears a pending file, and choosing a file clears a pending link.
Where you can add videos
The uploader is available anywhere you add or edit an exercise:
Exercise Library - build your demo library outside of any one program.
Adding a new exercise from a client's calendar - attach a video as you program the day.
Programs / the program builder - the video attaches to the exercise you are editing.
Warm-ups, cool-downs, and conditioning - the same flow across all three.
Live preview and upload progress
When you paste a link, the video preview loads in the panel so you can play it and confirm it is correct.
When you upload a file, a progress bar fills as the file uploads, then shows a green check when it is in. You do not have to wait on the screen, you can keep working while it processes.
Processing (transcoding) usually takes one to three minutes depending on length and file size.
Supported formats and limits
Attribute | Details |
File types | MP4, MOV, M4V |
Maximum file size | 500 MB per video |
Recommended length | Under 2 minutes for an exercise demo |
Output quality | Auto-transcoded to 480p and 1080p for adaptive playback |
Delivery | Served to clients through a CDN, in-app and on web |
Thumbnails
After an uploaded video finishes processing, CoachRx automatically generates thumbnail options. Open the video and choose the frame that best represents the movement, or upload your own thumbnail. Your selection carries across the library and playback.
What your clients see
Your video plays for the client when they open the exercise, in the mobile app and on web. If an uploaded video is still processing, the default demo shows as a fallback until yours is ready.
Troubleshooting
An upload is stuck processing
Transcoding usually finishes in a few minutes; larger files take longer. If a video has been processing for more than 30 minutes, refresh the page. If it is still stuck, delete it and upload again, a fresh upload usually transcodes cleanly.
A client cannot see the uploaded video
Confirm the video finished processing (you will see its thumbnail). If it shows in your library but not for the client, have them force-quit and reopen the app. The CDN cache clears within a few minutes.
A file was rejected
Re-export as an MP4 with H.264 video and AAC audio, most phone-recorded files convert cleanly. Files over 500 MB are rejected, so trim or compress first.
Who can add videos
Coaches can add videos to the exercises in their own programs. Admins, Super Admins, and Owners can add videos to the shared organization library. Video upload is on for all CoachRx organizations.
