Setting Up Apple Health with Coachway on iOS

How to enable Apple Health so fitness apps can sync with Coachway on your iPhone.

Written by Malene Malmkjær

What is Apple Health?

Apple Health is the built-in health platform on every iPhone. Coachway uses Apple Health to pull data from Apple Watch and apps like Garmin Connect, Polar Flow, and other fitness apps - so steps and activities show up automatically.

The easy way: the Enable button

If you see a pop-up with an Enable button on your home screen in the Coachway app, tap it - it takes you straight to the right settings so you can give permission in seconds. That's all most people need. The steps below are for setting it up manually or fixing it later.

Setting It Up Manually

  1. Open the Coachway app on your iPhone

  2. When prompted, allow Coachway to read data from Apple Health

  3. If you missed the prompt, go to Settings → Health → Data Access & Devices → Coachway and enable the data types you want to share

Connecting Your Fitness App

Apple Watch data flows into Apple Health automatically. For other brands, make sure the brand's own app is set to sync with Apple Health:

  1. Open your fitness app (e.g. Garmin Connect)

  2. Go to its settings and enable Apple Health sync

  3. Coachway will automatically pull the data from Apple Health

This works for any watch or app that can write to Apple Health - Garmin, Fitbit, Polar, and more. If the brand's app can sync to Apple Health, Coachway can read it.

Good to know: when data appears

If something looks missing: open your fitness app first so it syncs to Apple Health, then open Coachway and give it a moment.

Troubleshooting

Coachway is not showing my data

Check that both your fitness app and Coachway have permissions enabled in Apple Health. Go to Settings → Health → Data Access & Devices and verify both apps are listed. Then open your fitness app, then Coachway.

Only some data is coming through

You could have allowed only some categories when the permission prompt appeared. Go to the same settings screen and turn on the missing data types.

I do not see the permission prompt

Check the settings path above first. If Coachway is not listed there at all, delete and reinstall the Coachway app - the permission prompt appears again on first open.
