How It Works
The connection works in two steps:
Your Fitbit sends data to your phone - your Fitbit device syncs to the Google Health app (previously the Fitbit app) as it normally does.
Coachway pulls data from your phone's health platform - on iPhone that's Apple Health, and on Android it's Health Connect.
iPhone: Fitbit → Apple Health
The data chain is the following:
Fitbit device → Google Health app → Apple Health → Coachway pulls the data.
Make sure the Google Health app is updated to the latest version (5.05 or later) in the App Store. If you do not have the app, download it.
In Google Health, open your profile and go to Partner apps (or Connections), then select Apple Health.
Allow Google Health to share the data you want, e.g. steps and workouts.
Make sure Coachway also has access to that data in Apple Health: on your iPhone, go to Settings → Health → Data Access & Devices → Coachway.
Good to know: some data, like heart rate variability (HRV), does not sync from Google Health to Apple Health.
Android: Fitbit → Health Connect
The data chain is the following:
Fitbit device → Google Health app → Health Connect → Coachway pulls the data.
Make sure the Google Health app (previously the Fitbit app) is updated to the latest version in the Google Play Store. If you do not have the app, download it.
Check that Health Connect is on your phone. It comes built in on Android 14 and newer. On older Android versions, download Health Connect from the Google Play Store.
In Google Health, tap Connections, then Partner apps.
Under Add connections, tap Sync your favourite health apps and then Set up.
Choose the data you want to share, e.g. steps and workouts, and tap Continue.
Make sure Coachway also has access to that data in Health Connect: open Health Connect, tap App permissions, select Coachway.
