You can require all sign-ups to enter a one-time code to complete their sign up and receive messages. Two-Factor Authentication, or 2FA, adds an extra layer of security against bots and impersonators since it requires the user to actually receive and then enter a one-time code.
This code will be sent to whichever channel they signed up with on Cobrand: WhatsApp, SMS Message, or Email. If the fan entered both a mobile sign-up method and an email method, they will receive it to the mobile method (WhatsApp or text, depending on what they chose).
Enabling Verification is optional, and can be enabled on a per-Drop basis and disabled at any time. You can find this setting under Additional Settings when editing your Drop. Please note, enabling Verification incurs additional costs which are outlined in the Message Pricing section of the platform.
How will this impact the fan sign-up experience?
When Verification is off, a fan can complete their sign up and then receive your message simply by entering their contact method(s).
When Verification is on, after they click Submit they will see a screen asking them for a one-time code. There will be an instruction on that screen to check their WhatsApp or their text messages, depending on how they signed up.
Once they enter the correct code, they will see the confirmation page, and then receive the message. If a fan does not complete this step, their sign-up will not be added to your Cobrand database, and they will not receive a message.
