Overview
The Quick Link dashboard widget allows you to direct your users to an activity or an external URL via a button on your app home screen or homepage.
Using a Quick Link can encourage users to engage with a particular activity more regularly or to access information external to your app, such as your website or a feedback survey, through a single click.
📌 This widget is available for both mobile and web applications.
Step 1: Add the Quick Link widget to your Dashboard
1. In Cogniss Creator, navigate to Dashboard in the left sidebar.
2. Click on Add new widget in the top right of the page.
3. In the Dashboard widgets library, search for the Quick Link widget and click Add. Return to the Dashboard by clicking on the cross in the top right.
4. The Quick Link widget will now be on your Dashboard and ready for you to configure as needed.
5. Click Save Changes at the bottom of the page.
Step 2: Configure the Quick Link widget
1. In Text, you can add a relevant description or call to action for your quick link.
2. If applicable, you can add a small icon to your quick link by clicking on Upload media and uploading your icon. We recommend using an image no larger than 100x100 pixels.
3. If you’re using the Quick Link widget for an external website, add your link in the URL field.
4. If you’re using the Quick Link widget to direct your users to an activity in your app, click on Activity to launch and select the relevant activity from the dropdown.
5. Once you have updated the widget, click Save Changes at the bottom of the page.
6. Open your app to preview your Quick Link widget and to test it works as expected.
The Quick Link widget appears on your app home screen or homepage as a button. You can update the button style in the Style tab in Creator. Learn more about this in the Styles Overview article.
💡 If you would like to include the option for your users to contact you, you can use the URL field in the Quick Link widget for a mailto link. Simply add mailto: followed by the email address (with no spaces).
