Note: You must have a Super App environment and be an enterprise customer to have access to this feature. Please read the article on Super App for more details

Introduction

Customise the discoverability of your apps by making them private in order to restrict public access to regular apps. Private apps can only be viewed and edited by App admins and Platform admins.

You can still give access to non-admins by providing them with the app’s QR code.

Public vs Private apps

Public apps:

  • Public: Any users will be able to access and view the app within your app environment

Private apps:

  • Non-admin users will not be able to see this app in the Superhub app or find it in the Discover menu. Platform admins and app admins will still be able to view and access this.

  • When you create new apps, the default will be set to Private.

What a non-admin user can see when apps are set to private.

Even when apps are set to private, the platform and app admin can still see the private apps.

How to configure an app to public or private

To configure the app discoverability, select the chosen app in Cogniss Creator. Go to Settings tab > App Discoverability to configure that app's user discoverability.

Visible to targeted user groups

Cogniss apps can also be configured to only be visible to a specific group of users. Groups can be created based on criteria such as user profile data. This is an advanced way to customise what your target audience can access, dependent on what is only relevant for different groups.

For example, making some apps visible only to users in a specific location or users in a certain age group.

To configure the target user group, Global Criteria needs to be set up by our team in Cogniss. Please contact us for more information on this.
