How to Change the Feedback Language in CoGrader

In multilingual classrooms, the language of feedback matters. CoGrader lets you choose the language for grammar checks and AI feedback during setup or while reviewing an assignment.

Where to Find the Language Setting

The language option is available in Advanced Rules for each assignment.

You’ll see this section when:

  • Building a new assignment, or

  • Reviewing and editing an existing assignment

In the panel, scroll to Advanced Rules, then look for the Language dropdown.

This means:

  • Grammar suggestions align with the selected language.

  • AI-generated feedback follows the selected language conventions.

  • Spelling, punctuation, and usage checks reflect that language.


    How to Select the Language When Building an Assignment

    If you're setting up a new assignment:

    1. Create or import your assignment.

    2. Scroll to Advanced Rules.

    3. Click the pencil icon (edit) if needed.

    4. Locate the Language dropdown.

    5. Select your preferred option (e.g., English (US)).

    6. Click Apply.

    7. Save your assignment.

    This ensures all grading and feedback use your selected language from the start.

    If you teach multiple preps, this is a helpful step to build into your setup routine so you don’t have to circle back later.
