Product Information Overview
Description: The product description you input will appear on the front end of the product page.
Collections and Tags: Products can be organized into collections (e.g., "Wines") and tagged with specific keywords (e.g., "New Wine Drinkers").
Wine Specifications: Various product specs, like bottle size and type, are shown to customers. However, if you leave certain fields blank (e.g., harvest date), they won’t appear on the product page.
Product Variations
Available in two variations:
750 milliliters
5-ounce serving of wine is roughly 148ml.
1 liter
These variations will be displayed to customers as options they can choose from. Pricing for each variation is also shown.
Required Fields for Each Variant
Each product variation requires important details, including:
Price
Cost of Goods Sold (COGS)
Inventory available
Unique SKU
Weight (used for shipping calculations)
Discounted Prices
If you've entered a discounted price, it will appear on the front end as follows:
The original price will show with a strikeout.
The discounted price will be displayed prominently, showing the savings for the customer.
Filtering Products by Tags
When navigating your shop, customers can filter products based on the tags you've assigned.
For instance, if a customer filters by the tag "New Wine Drinkers," only the products tagged with that label, like the Phantom Chardonnay, will appear.
Quick Add and Cart Features
Quick Add: If customers use the “Quick Add” option, they can see all the variations (e.g., 750 ml, 1 liter) and the discounted price for the Phantom Chardonnay.
Cart Updates: Once a customer adds the product to their cart, they can easily adjust quantities or make other changes to their selection.
Shipping Considerations
If using direct integrations with UPS or FedEx, the product’s weight is essential for accurate shipping rates.
Viewing Detailed Product Specifications
When a customer clicks directly into the product page, they will see all the wine details, including the specifications you filled out on the backend.
If any fields are left blank (such as the harvest date in this example), those details won’t be shown to the customer on the front end.
