The Countdown Timer Widget
Updated over a week ago

The countdown widget is a handy way for limiting the amount of time or setting up a specific date for people to view a specific page.

Add a Countdown Widget to a page

To add a Countdown timer to a page in the builder, navigate to the Builder Menu, click the + icon to open up the Widget Menu and scroll down to the Other section, click and drag the Countdown widget to where it needs to be added.

Settings

Currently, there are 3 different countdown types to choose from:

Count to date

The count-to-date option allows you to select a specific date and time for the timer to stop counting and select the action to take place once the timer has stopped.

They will be redirected to a page letting them know that the option to sign up is no longer available and thus prevent people to sign up after the set date and time.

This option is great to use for the purpose of offering the option to sign up for something by a certain date. After the timer stops, they will be redirected to a page letting them know that the option to sign up is no longer available and thus prevent people to sign up after the set amount of time.

Count time

The count time option allows you to select a specific amount of time for the timer to stop counting and select the action to take place once the timer has stopped. They will be redirected to a page letting them know that the option to sign up is no longer available and thus prevent people to sign up after the set amount of time.

The reset on each page view can be enabled, allowing the time shown on the page to reset after someone has viewed the page, thus restarting the timer each time someone views the page.

Count number

The count number option allows you to set a specific number which will be counted down. When the timer reaches zero, the timer will implement the action you have chosen to be implemented. If you chose to redirect the page, visitors will be redirected to a page letting them know that the option to sign up is no longer available and thus preventing people to sign up after zero has been reached.

The interval option is the duration in seconds that the counter counts down, so in the screenshot below for example, the counter starts at 100 and ends at 0, counting down 1 number every second that passes.

When counter ends

When the counter ends, you can select what happens. Currently, there are 3 options to choose from:

Do Nothing

Nothing will happen and the option to redirect to a certain page or show a message is unavailable.

Go to page/show popup

You can select a specific page to redirect to or even a specific popup to show.

Show message

You have the option for a custom message to show which can be edited in the settings of the Countdown timer

Styling

To customize the Countdown timer, there are many options to choose from such as the text size, colour, background colour, and flip animation to name a few.

Testing

After the countdown timer has been customized and set, you can test and preview the timer by navigating to the builder menu and clicking on the eye icon, then Show in a new tab, then removing the last part of the URL from the question mark onwards

πŸ’‘TIPS

We recommend testing the timer after updating and customizing the timer to make sure it displays and works correctly, also test the redirection page URL.
