Introduction
System pages are built-in pages included with your CCK site. They’re triggered automatically when someone takes specific actions, such as entering the wrong URL, attempting to log in, or downloading a digital file.
This guide will walk you through how to find these pages, what each one does, and how to customise them to match your course site’s look and feel.
Find your system pages
Go to the Pages section under Pages & Popups.
Scroll all the way down and click on System Pages.
You’ll see a list of system pages, each with its own purpose.
Preview each page
Click on each page in the list to view its appearance.
This helps you understand what your students will see in different situations.
Know what each page is for
Here’s a quick overview of some of system pages that are available:
Page Not Found: Displayed when a user enters a broken or incorrect link.
Not Enough Permissions: Appears when someone attempts to access a module they don’t have permission to view.
Page Protected: Shown when a page is password-protected.
Member Details: This is the student’s profile page, accessed via the top-right menu.
Member Login / Registration:
Login: Where your students log into your site.
Registration: Used only if you’ve enabled public registration (not recommended for course creators).
Store Pages (e.g., Product, Cart, Checkout): These only appear if you sell physical products.
Download Digital File: Shown after a student purchases a digital file. It includes a button to download their file.
Order Completed / Processing / Cancelled / Error: Used in store checkouts, but not usually needed if you use funnels.
Tidy up the design and links
You can edit each page to make minor improvements:
Update buttons: For example, change “Return to Home” to “Return to Dashboard” so students return to the correct location.
Check the links: Make sure buttons link to your actual student dashboard, not just the homepage.
Change the background: For login or other visible pages, try adding a stock image or brand colours to match your site’s style.
Decide if you’ll use the registration page
Most course creators won’t use the registration page, since students usually gain access by purchasing a product.
If you do enable it, you’ll need to connect it to your email system and handle tagging or automations (this can get complex and isn’t covered here).
Additional Tips
Focus on editing pages students are likely to see: Login, Page Not Found, Download Digital File, etc.
Ignore store-related pages unless you’re selling physical products.
You only need to edit the registration page if you’ve enabled it; otherwise, leave it as is.
What’s next?
Take a few minutes to review your system pages and adjust any elements that don’t align with your brand or student flow. A quick tweak to the login page or error messages can make a big difference in how professional your site feels.
