File Menu

Create, open, rename, print or convert estimates.

Click on the Main Menu icon. It's a blue icon with three horizontal lines at the top left of the screen.

Then click File to see the options on the File Menu. Click any option to select that function. Many options on the File Menu have an icon equivalent on the Tool Bar and a Shortcut Key equivalent.

Tips: The table below summarizes options on the File Menu and lists shortcuts, icons and links to more information for each option.

Description

New Estimate

Alt + N

Begins a new estimate. See New Estimate.

Open . . .

Ctrl + O

Opens a list of existing estimates created under the logged in user account. See Open . . .

Save As . . .

F12

Saves the open estimate under a new file name without changing the old file name.

Rename . . .

Changes the file name of an open estimate. Renaming an estimate removes the estimate under the old file name and creates an estimate under the new file name. See Rename an Estimate.

Delete

Removes the open estimate from your list of estimates. See Delete an Estimate.

Import an estimate from legacy National Estimator

Estimates created under an earlier version of National Estimator can be imported into National Estimator Cloud. See Import Estimate from Legacy National Estimator.

Share an Estimate

Create a version of the current estimate to share with another National Estimator Cloud subscriber. See Share an Estimate.

Import a Shared Estimate

Opens an estimate received from another National Estimator Cloud subscriber. See Import a Shared Estimate.

Open Costbook

Ctrl + B

Shows the list costbooks available with National Estimator Cloud.

Print

Alt + P

Downloads the current estimate for printing, either as a Postscript (PDF) or a Word (RTF) file or an Excel (XLSX) file. See Print.

Create Bid

Converts an estimate into a bid, either as a Postscript (PDF) or a Word (RTF) or an Excel (XLSX) file. See Create Bid.

Create Invoice
