Find out how to use the comments to collaborate with your colleagues

Updated over a week ago

When working on an Episode (Script, Rundown) in Cuez, it can come in handy to add a comment on certain content and even use comments to discuss this content with your colleagues. Comments can be added to Parts, Items and Blocks, meaning you can leave a comment on every level of the Episode.

How to add a Comment

To add a Comment, use the comment icon (text bubble) next to the content you want to comment on. This icon becomes visible when hovering with your mouse over a Part, Item or Block, and can be found in the comments Column in both the Rundown and the Script layout.

Alternatively, click the six dots icon in front of the Part, Item or Block you want to comment on, then select 'Add comment' to open the comments window.

You can also write multi-lines comments, by clicking on shift+enter to write your text on a second line.

How to view Comments

Once one or more comments have been added to a Part, Item or Block, the comment icon remains visible, clearly indicating which content has been commented on. Clicking the icon reveals all comments.

How to resolve comments

When a comment, or a conversation in comments, is no longer needed, the comments can be resolved. Open the comments you want to resolve, then select 'Resolve all' at the top of the comments window. The comments will now disappear, as will the comment icon next to the content.

How to delete comments

When a comment is no longer needed, the comment can be deleted. Open the comments, click the three vertical dots next to the comment you want to delete, then 'Delete comment'.

If this was the only comment on that specific content, the comment icon will disappear. If other comments remain on that content, so will the comment icon.

You can delete your own comments, but not the comments of others.

If you are a project 'Admin', you can delete comments of others as well.

How to enable or disable the comment column

In your Episode, you can also decide to hide the comment column.

Click on the '+' to access the column section at the top of your Script/Rundown and select or deselect the comment column.

Note that if you chose to hide the comment column, you won't see any comments, for that you need to enable it.
