Sometimes, you might spot a fault while you're on the move and don’t have time for a full pre-start or inspection form. Scanning the asset’s QR code lets you quickly log the issue right then and there, so it’s recorded and can be sorted out faster.

To record a fault directly for the asset, follow these steps:

Option 1: Mobile - Using asset QR code

1. Scan the asset QR code with your mobile camera. This will bring you to the asset profile

2. Press the green + button in the bottom right corner of the screen to add a new fault

3. Select 'Create fault'

4. Fill out all the information related to the fault. This includes: Fault Type, Fault Severity, Fault Details and Photos.

Note: The Fault Type field only allows you to select from a dropdown

5. Once done, select 'Save' in the top right corner of the screen

6. Your fault will then be added to the activity feed for this asset

Option 2: Web - Using the Asset Web App

1. Navigate to the 'Faults' section under 'Management' in the left-hand side menu. Select the green 'Add Fault' button in the top right corner of the register

2. Select your asset from the dropdown list. You can start typing info relating to narrow down the list

3. Fill out all the fault details: Fault Type, Severity, Description, Photos. Select 'Save' to submit the fault

Note: The Fault Type field only allows you to select from a dropdown

6. Your fault will be added to the Faults register
