Gearbelt allows you to create rules with customised requirements to receive notifications about new faults or damages reported on your assets.

To create fault notifications, follow these steps:

1. Navigate to the 'Settings' section under Admin in the left-hand side navigation menu

2. Click on the Notifications tab

3. In the Faults tab, click Add Rule

4. Enter a name for the rule

5. Set up the conditions that will trigger the fault notification.

6 .Choose the actions Gearbelt will complete when the conditions are met, and provide the required details for each action:

  1. Email Location Contact: Will automatically assign the contacts assigned to the selected location to receive notifications

  2. Email Contacts: Enter the email address or select a contact from the platform to receive the email

  3. SMS Contacts: Enter the mobile number or select an existing contact to receive the SMS notification.

7. Select the 'Save' button in the bottom right corner of the pane to finalise your fault notification rule setup

Notes:

The platform provides three possible conditions for filtering fault notifications:

  • Severity: Filter reports by Gearbelt’s three fault severities – Major, Moderate, and Minor

  • Asset Tags: Set notifications to trigger only if the asset with a report has a specific tag assigned

  • Project: Filter notifications based on the project an asset is assigned to at the time of the report
