What's changing

To prepare for the upcoming Gearbelt and Sitemate Mobile integration, which will bring offline mode and a single-app experience for field workers, we need to make a small change to how form fields are structured.

Currently, some fields have both a label and a description box. From Monday, 13 October, the texts in the description will be migrated into the label, and the description box will be removed for some fields.

This ensures all fields match the Sitemate products' structure, so forms work seamlessly both in Dashpivot and Gearbelt, from the Sitemate mobile app.

Unaffected fields

Descriptions will remain available for:

  • Pass/Fail/NA

  • Pass/Fail

  • Prefilled text

Affected fields

Descriptions will be removed for:

  • Sign manually

  • Signature

  • Photos

  • Dropdown

  • Default table

  • Single date time

  • Location

  • Unit reading

  • Check type

  • Issue link

What this means for you

  • Please review your forms - in some cases, labels may need a quick adjustment to stay clear after the migration

  • If you've added text in a description field, it will be moved automatically into the label

  • If you haven't added anything in the description box, it will simply be removed, so no action is needed

Timeline

  • Now: you can already update your forms manually if you prefer

  • Monday 13 October: migration will run automatically; all affected forms will be updated

Next steps

You don’t need to do anything unless you want to double-check your forms. If you have any questions or run into an issue, you can reach out to your customer success manager directly.
