Multi-factor authentication adds a second step to your login: your password, then a six digit code from an app on a device you carry. You turn it on for your own account, and it takes about a minute.

Go to Platform Settings.
Open Password.
Select Activate the multi-factor authentication.
Scan the QR code with your authenticator app.
Enter the six digit code the app shows you.
From now on, Datacapt asks for a code from that app each time you log in.
đĄ Tip: scan the code with a device you always have with you. A phone is the usual choice, but an authenticator widget on the computer you work from every day works just as well. What matters is that you will have it to hand every time you log in, including the morning you are travelling.
What is coming next
Today each person turns multi-factor authentication on for their own account, and nobody can turn it on for somebody else.
Datacapt is working on making it enforceable for a whole company, so an administrator will be able to require multi-factor authentication for every user rather than relying on each person to activate it. This is planned to land during 2027, in line with the CNIL's recommendation on multi-factor authentication.
