Single Sign-On lets your people log in to Datacapt with the company credentials they already use, instead of keeping a separate Datacapt password. It is based on SAML 2.0 and is tied to your company's email domain.
đ Prerequisite: SSO is configured for your company by the Datacapt expert team. You cannot switch it on yourself. Contact your Customer Success Manager to start the conversation, and involve whoever manages your identity provider.
Why a company turns it on
One less password. Users log in with credentials they already know, and there is no Datacapt password to expire every 90 days.
Access is revoked automatically. When someone is removed from your company's Active Directory, their Datacapt access goes with it. This is the reason most IT departments want it: leavers stop being a manual checklist item.
Fewer support requests. Forgotten Datacapt passwords stop existing as a category.
Who becomes an SSO user, and who does not
This is decided automatically by the email domain, not by a setting on the user.

Any other domain | A standard Datacapt user. They create and maintain their own Datacapt password. |
The two kinds coexist without any special handling. SSO users carry a tag on the Users page so you can tell at a glance which is which.
đĄ Tip: this matters when you invite people from outside your company, such as an investigator at a hospital or a monitor from a CRO. Their addresses will not match your domain, so they become standard users with Datacapt passwords, and the password rules apply to them. Turning SSO on does not remove password support requests from external collaborators.

If you are an SSO user
Go to the Datacapt login page.
Select the SSO button showing your company logo.
Authenticate with your company's system as usual.
If you are a standard user
Enter your email address and Datacapt password in the normal fields.

â ď¸ Warning: Datacapt does not hold your SSO password and cannot reset it. If you cannot get in through the SSO button, the Forgot password link on the Datacapt login page will not help you, because there is no Datacapt password on your account to reset. Contact your own IT department.
