If you are looking for an easy way to streamline your payment process and modernize your checkout experience, DaySmart Payments Powered by CardPointe has everything you need. We are happy to have you aboard and look forward to helping you simplify and strengthen your payment experience!


Step 1: Set up Credit Card Reader

Included components

  • Clover Quick-Start Guide

  • Numeric Keypad Privacy Cover (Compact only)

  • Charging cradle (Flex only)

  • Device hub with an Ethernet port (Mini Only)

  • Power cable

  • Receipt paper

  • Screwdriver

Setting up the reader is quite simple; the readers have bases they sit on for charging purposes. To get started, please make sure the reader is plugged in correctly and is allowed some time to charge. Take a look at the images to see where to plug the cables in at. Once the device is plugged in and powered on and select your language.

Wifi / Ethernet connection

PCI Compliance standards require the device to connect to a secure, password-protected network

Compact

Wifi

  1. The device defaults to Ethernet connection, click "use wifi instead" at the bottom of the display.

  2. From the WIFI list, tap on your network

  3. Enter the WIFI password, then connect. When the network says connected, tap on Done

Ethernet

  1. The device defaults to an Ethernet connection

  2. Plug the Ethernet cable into the bottom of the credit card reader

Flex

  1. On the Connect to Wi-Fi screen, configure the device’s network connection:

    • Tap Select a network.

    • From the WIFI list, tap on your network, then Done.

    • Enter the WIFI password, then connect. When the network says connected, tap on Done

  2. The device displays Successfully Connected to Server upon connecting.

Mini

WiFi

  1. To connect to a Wi-Fi network, tap Connect next to the Wi-Fi option.

  2. Select your network. Enter the password.

Ethernet

  1. To connect to a wired network, tap Ethernet

  2. Plug the Ethernet cable into the device hub adapter.

  3. Press Check Connection.

Updates & Registration code

After your device connects to your internet, it's going to look for any updates that might have been made while the device was in shipping, this can take 5-15 minutes. While waiting, you can prepare for the next step by looking for your registration code for the device. That would have been sent in the email with the shipping information. make sure to check you've spam/junk folder if you're not seeing it.

Customer Mode Lock

Locking customer mode ensures a client isn't able to change or look at any settings. The credit card reader will display a static screen of the DaySmart or CardPointe Logos.

  1. In Admin Panel, tap all 4 corners of the screen at the same time if in customer mode already

  2. Enable Customer Mode Lock

  3. After you enable Customer Mode Lock, choose Launch Customer Mode, and press Okay.


Step 2: Connect to DaySmart

Go back to the main settings screen and click Launch Customer Mode, then Okay before running a payment. If the device is not in customer mode, the device can not be located by the DaySmart software.

Look for the corresponding headings to follow along!

  1. Click ... More

  2. Open Settings from the menu (Gear icon)

  3. Click on Card Processing on the left.

  4. Click Settings from the dropdown.

  5. Click + Add New Device.

  6. Enter a Display name - this is your choice and comes in handy if you have more than one device.

  7. Select the correct Device Type.

  8. Enter the Serial Number of the device. This can be found inside the receipt printer opening or bat tapping all 4 corners of the device and looking for "HSN"

  9. Click Save

  10. Click the icon to test the connection. If it was successful, then the device was added successfully.

App

  1. Click ... More in the bottom right-hand corner

  2. Select Settings towards the bottom of the list.

  3. Click Credit Card Processing Settings

  4. Click Credit Card Device Settings

  5. Click the plus sign in the bottom right.

  6. Select the reader you ordered

  7. Enter a Display name - this is your choice and comes in handy if you have more than one device.

  8. Enter the Serial Number of the device. This can be found inside the receipt printer opening or bat tapping all 4 corners of the device and looking for "HSN"

  9. Click Save

Desktop

Look for the corresponding headings to follow along!

  1. Click on Tools in the upper left corner.

  2. Select Credit Card Setup from the menu.

  3. Click the Enable credit card processing checkbox (Should be blue)

  4. Ensure the processing method says CardConnect.

  5. Enter your MID and click Verify.

  6. Click the add button.

  7. Select the Device Type

  8. Enter a Display name, this is your choice and comes in handy if you have more than one device.

  9. Enter the Serial Number of the device. This can be found inside the receipt printer opening or bat tapping all 4 corners of the device and looking for "HSN"

  10. Click Okay


Step 3: Run a Test Payment

As soon as your credit card reader is all set up, you're good to go! Just create a new appointment and get ready to check out. It's that easy!
