Before starting the setup process, ensure your device is plugged in and charging for at least 30 minutes or is fully charged.
🚨 If the device loses power during updates, it can result in the device getting corrupted and not able to take payments.
🔌Step 1: Set up your Hardware

Remove the battery cover: Use a tool that won’t cause damage, and lift at the small notch located at the lower-left corner on the back.
Insert the battery
Snap the cover back on securely and flip over.
Connect the charging cable: Plug in the charger to ensure it stays powered during updates.
Power on the device: Hold the power button (on the right side) for a few seconds until the device turns on
Select your language
Select your country
Select your Wi-Fi network: a network with a password is required.
Wait for updates: The device will begin updating its software. This may take some time, so stay patient.
Stripe Reader S700

Connect the charging cable: Plug in the charger to ensure it stays powered during updates.
Power on the device: Hold the power button (on the right side) for a few seconds until the device turns on
Select your language
Select your country
Select your Wi-Fi network: a network with a password is required.
Wait for updates: The device will begin updating its software. This may take some time, so stay patient.
Stripe Reader M2

Connect the charging cable: Plug in the charger to ensure it stays powered during updates.
Turn the Stripe Reader M2 on by pressing the button on the side of the device. The status LEDs turn on for 2 seconds and the reader beeps twice.
The reader waits for a Bluetooth connection for five minutes before turning off.
The device will show green dots for the charging status
When the reader connects to DaySmart, all four LEDs flash. After that, the first LED blinks every five seconds to show it’s connected. It stays connected in standby mode and wakes up when you start using it again.
If there's no activity for 10 hours, it turns off automatically. You can also turn it off manually by holding the power button for four seconds.

Connect the charging cable: Plug in the charger to ensure it stays powered during updates.
You can turn on the the reader by pressing and holding the power button, located at the top right of the PIN pad.
The display dims after a few seconds of inactivity. If inactive and disconnected from your application for more than 5 minutes, it beeps and powers off.
⚙️ Step 2: Register your Reader in DaySmart

In the DaySmart mobile app, click More… at the bottom right, then Settings at the bottom.
Click Credit Card Processing Settings
Click Credit Card Device Settings.
Click the + button in the bottom right corner.
Select the Device Type.
Enter the registration code: Input the code displayed on the screen, make sure to include the dashes.
Enter a Name for the device: this is your choice and comes in handy if you have more than one device.
Click Finish

In the DaySmart mobile app, click More… at the bottom right, then Settings at the bottom.
Click Credit Card Processing Settings
Click Credit Card Device Settings.
Click the + button in the bottom right corner.
Select the Device Type.
Once prompted with the Bluetooth Pairing Request notification on the phone, click Pair.
Follow the prompts on the phone screen to connect the device. The app should automatically find the device once powered on.
The app may prompt that it is updating the device. Keep the device powered on and in range and wait for the update to complete. This may take some time, so stay patient. The device will chirp when the update is almost complete.
Once the device is successfully paired, you will be able to give it a nickname. You can use the default name if you would like.
Click Finish.

Click on the three dots More.
Select Settings from the menu that appears.
Click Card Processing on the left-hand side menu, and then click Settings again.
Under your Account ID, click + Add Device.
Enter a Device Name. Choose a name that helps you identify the device, especially if you have multiple devices.
Enter the Registration Code displayed on the reader's screen. Make sure to include the dashes in the code.
Click Save

As soon as your credit card reader is all set up, you're good to go! Just create a new appointment and get ready to check out. It's that easy!

The registration code is the three-word-prompt on the display of the reader. If you're not seeing this, use the steps below:
Swipe from left to right to open the menu
Click device settings
Enter the admin PIN 07139
Click the second option, Generate Pairing Code
Click the back button twice to get back to the DaySmart screen
