How can I cancel my pending card payment?

Unfortunately, this isn't something we're able to do. Once a payment has been authorised, only the merchant can cancel or reverse it. If you'd like the transaction cancelled, please contact the merchant directly.

What does a "Pending" card payment mean?

A pending transaction means your payment has been authorised and the funds have been reserved for the merchant — but the merchant hasn't collected them yet. The amount is deducted from your available balance, but the transaction isn't finalised.

How long does a pending payment take to complete?

Most pending transactions complete within 1–5 business days, depending on the merchant. Once the merchant collects the funds, the transaction moves to "Completed" status.

Why is my transaction still showing as pending?

This is normal! The merchant has authorised the payment but hasn't claimed the funds yet. It's especially common with hotels, car rentals, online stores, and subscription services.

What happens if the merchant never collects the funds?

No action needed on your end. If the merchant doesn't finalise the transaction, the hold will automatically expire and the reserved funds will be released back to your account — typically within 30 days.

I see a small pending charge I don't recognise. What is it?

This is most likely a card verification charge — a small temporary amount (e.g., €0.01–€1) used by a merchant or service to confirm your card is active. It's common when adding your card to a new service or digital wallet. It's temporary and will be removed automatically.

What is a pre-authorisation and why does it appear as pending?

A pre-authorisation is a temporary hold placed by a merchant to reserve funds before finalising a transaction. It's common with hotels, car rentals, fuel stations, and online orders. The funds aren't taken — just reserved.

The hold will either be completed by the merchant or automatically released if not finalised (usually within 30 days).

Can you remove a pre-authorisation hold from my account?

No — only the merchant can cancel a pre-authorisation. We're unable to remove it, even if it looks duplicated. If the merchant doesn't complete the charge, it will release automatically.

What happens if the merchant never collects the funds?

No action needed on your end. If the merchant doesn't finalise the transaction, the hold will automatically expire and the reserved funds will be released back to your account. You can check the exact expiry date directly in the app.

My transaction failed, but I still see a pending charge. Why?

This can happen because the payment was authorized on our end before the failure was confirmed. We haven't yet received communication from the merchant that the transaction failed, so it may still appear as pending in the meantime.

In most cases, the hold will automatically expire and the funds will be released back to your account within 30 days. You can check the expiry date directly in the app.
