💸 Sending money
We always try to get your SEPA transfers done super fast 🚀, so the money lands in the recipient's account right away. But sometimes, the other bank might not be set up for instant transfers. If that happens, it could take a day or two (24 to 48 hours) to go through, and just a heads-up, this only counts on weekdays.
SEPA Instant transfers are designed to process payments within seconds, provided both the sending and receiving banks support the SEPA Instant scheme. If either bank does not support SEPA Instant, the transfer defaults to a standard SEPA transfer, which can take 1–2 business days to complete. Additionally, SEPA Instant transfers can occasionally take up to 30 minutes or longer due to processing delays.
👀 Always double-check your beneficiary's account details before you go ahead with a transfer.
🤑 Receiving money
If someone transfers money to you via SEPA, chances are you'll get it right away. But if their bank doesn't do instant transfers, it might take a bit longer—around a day or two (24 to 48 hours) to hit your account.
Factors such as the recipient bank's participation in SEPA Instant, temporary maintenance, compliance checks, or internal rules can influence the timing of transfers. Additionally, the transfer amount must fall within the limits set for SEPA Instant payments.
🤔 Haven't seen the money after 3 working days? It's a good idea to ask the sender for a transfer confirmation. This way, you can double-check that your banking details were entered correctly.
If the transfer still hasn’t arrived after 2–3 business days, you can ask the sender to contact their bank to initiate a transfer trace. This helps determine the status of the payment and identify any issues.
🙈 If there's a mix-up with your details, you'll need to ask the sender to talk to their bank about fixing the mistake or reversing the transfer.
In cases of significant delays, the sender can also request their bank to trace the payment to identify any issues or confirm its status.
