At Deblock, we support both Instant SEPA and Regular SEPA transfers. The time it takes for funds to reach your account depends on how the sender’s bank handles the transfer, and sometimes other factors can come into play too.
Here’s what to expect:
SEPA Instant Transfers: Arrive within seconds and are available 24/7, including weekends and public holidays.
Regular SEPA Transfers: Usually take up to 2 business days. These are not processed on weekends or public holidays.
Can Deblock check if my transfer is on its way?
No, we can’t see or track incoming transfers before they reach us. As soon as a transfer arrives at Deblock, it appears in your app.
If the transfer is in your app: it has reached your account.
If the transfer isn’t in your app: it hasn’t reached Deblock yet. Only the sender’s bank can tell you where the transfer is and when it was actually sent.
Why might my transfer take longer?
Sometimes, transfers take longer. Here’s why that might happen:
The sender’s bank doesn’t support SEPA Instant, or it wasn’t available at the time. In that case, the transfer is sent as Regular SEPA, which takes longer.
The sender’s bank processed the transfer later than the date shown. Some banks display the date the transfer was requested, but only send it through SEPA later, for example after a daily cut-off time, on the next business day, or after their own internal checks.
The transfer is undergoing an additional verification by one of the involved banks. While there’s no exact timeframe, these checks typically wrap up within 1-2 business days.
The sender’s bank (or even SEPA itself) might be experiencing technical issues or undergoing maintenance.
The transfer was mistakenly sent via SWIFT. Deblock doesn’t support SWIFT transfers yet, so the funds will be automatically returned within 5 business days.
What should I do if my transfer doesn’t arrive?
If your transfer hasn’t arrived within the expected timeframe:
Double-check the details
Ask the sender to confirm the IBAN and other transfer details are correct. They can also provide a transfer confirmation document, which helps verify how the payment was processed and gives us key info if support needs to step in.Verify the transfer type
Many senders assume they used SEPA Instant, but it may have been sent as Regular SEPA, which naturally takes longer.Check when the transfer was actually sent
Ask the sender to confirm with their bank the date the transfer was processed through SEPA, not just the date it was requested.Wait for the standard periods
SEPA Instant: seconds
Regular SEPA: up to 2 business days
Additional verification: may add 1-2 business days
SWIFT (mistakenly used): returned within 5 business days
Still no luck?
If the transfer still isn’t in your app, it hasn’t reached Deblock yet. The sender should contact their bank to check its status and, if needed, initiate a trace. Only the sender’s bank can start or carry out this process.
