What to do if you already have a qualitative coding project in NVivo, ATLAS.ti or MAXQDA and want to switch to Delve.

At this time, Delve doesn't support direct import from other tools like NVivo, ATLAS.ti, or MAXQDA. You will need to export your data from your other tools, then manually start a new project in Delve.

While this may be cumbersome at first, you will get the benefit of using Delve's simple and easy to learn interface.

Step 1. Export transcripts from your current tool

Export your transcripts from NVivo, ATLAS.ti or MAXQDA in the form of either .txt, .docx, or .pdf files.

Step 2. Import transcripts into Delve

Step 3. Add codes in Delve

  • Click the "Search or Add Codes" text box under "Codes"

  • Type the name of the code you want to add

  • Press "enter" on your keyboard, or click "Add code" button.

Step 4. Re-code your transcripts in Delve

Highlight the text you want to code and click the code you want to apply to the text in order to code it.
