How to Whitelist an Application in Norton 360

If Norton 360 is blocking an application (such as the Bola voice assistant) from installing or running, you may need to whitelist (exclude) the app in Norton’s settings. Below is a step-by-step guide to help you resolve this issue.

Step 1: Add the Application as an Exclusion in Norton 360

To prevent Norton from flagging the app as a security risk, you can add it to the exclusions list.

1. Open Norton 360: Double-click the Norton icon in your system tray or search for "Norton 360" in the Start menu.

2. Go to Settings:

- Click "Settings" (gear icon) in the top-right corner.

3. Navigate to Antivirus > Scans and Risks

- Under "Scans and Risks," find "Exclusions / Low Risks" and click Configure.

4. Add an Exclusion

- Click "+ Add Exclusion".

- Choose "Folder" or "File" (depending on whether you want to exclude the entire app folder or just the installer).

- Browse and select the Bola app’s installation directory (e.g., `C:\Program Files\Bola`).

- Click "OK" to save.

Step 2: Temporarily Disable Norton Features

If the issue persists, try disabling certain Norton protections temporarily while installing the app.

Option 1: Disable "Safe Web"

1. Open "Norton 360".

2. Click "Settings" (gear icon).

3. Go to "Firewall > Smart Firewall".

4. Toggle off "Safe Web" (if enabled).

5. Try running the installer again.

Option 2: Temporarily Disable Real-Time Protection

1. Open "Norton 360".

2. Click "Settings" (gear icon).

3. Go to "Antivirus > Real-Time Protection".

4. Toggle off "Real-Time Protection" (temporarily).

5. Attempt to install the app again.

6. "Remember to re-enable protection afterward!"

Step 3: Reinstall the Application

If the app was previously uninstalled, ensure a clean reinstallation: Click Here

1. Download the latest version of the app from the official source.

2. Run the installer "as Administrator" (right-click > "Run as Administrator").

3. Follow the installation prompts.

Step 4: Contact Support if the Issue Persists

If Norton continues blocking the app after these steps, further investigation may be needed.

Schedule a follow-up with support for additional troubleshooting.

Check for Norton updates (Settings > Administrative Settings > Product Updates).

Submit a false positive report to Norton (if the app is safe but still blocked).
