This video is a tutorial from Digital Combustion that guides users through the process of activating Fire Studio 7 (also applicable to version 6.5).

Here is a detailed summary of the activation process and key features:

Activation Process

The activation panel is now built directly into the program, removing the need for a separate license manager application [00:23]. You must be connected to the internet for this process [01:40].

  1. Enter Credentials:

    • License ID: Located in your purchase email or customer portal [00:38].

    • Password: Not case-sensitive (capitals or small letters both work) [00:50].

    • Install Name: A unique name for the computer (e.g., "Laptop 1"). This is important for managing multiple licenses (Player or Instructor editions) and makes it easier to support or reset licenses if needed [01:02].

  2. Activate: Click the "Activate" button. A prompt will appear confirming it will connect to the internet.

  3. Completion: Upon successful activation, the software will close automatically. The next time you open Fire Studio, it will be fully activated [01:55].

Managing Your License (Report Panel)

Once inside the software, you can access license details by pressing the "R" key on your keyboard to open the Report Panel [02:33].

  • View Details: Displays your License ID, who it is licensed to, and the specific version of the software you are running [02:40].

  • Deactivate: There is a "Deactivate" button in this panel. This allows you to remove the license from the current computer so you can install and activate it on a different machine without needing to contact support [03:01].

  • Close Panel: Press the "R" key again to close the panel [02:54].
