Certificates are PDF documents that you can link to courses. They allow learners to obtain them at the end of the course, provided that certain conditions are met. These certificates have legal value as they include information about the company issuing them, as well as the appropriate signature.
Conditions for obtaining a certificate
To obtain a certificate, learners must meet certain conditions, including:
Completing the course in question.
Minimum required time: The learner must spend the minimum time specified by the trainer to receive the certificate.
Dokeos offers several certificate templates. Your Project manager will assist you during the setup phase to help you choose the template best suited to your needs.
You must also provide your Project manager with certain information that will appear on the certificate, such as:
The name of the company
The address
The website
The name of the owner, etc.
Once your certificate is set up on our side, you can follow the steps below to complete the setup on your side.
1. Choose the Data to Display
As an Admin, click on the "Courses" button in the sidebar menu, then select "Certificate."
This section allows you to link the custom fields and filters you have created in the application.
Select the filters and custom fields corresponding to the information you wish to display on your certificate. For example, the profession that will appear on the certificate can be pulled from a "Function" filter you created in the Portals.
You can also check the roles for which you would like the portal to send a notification when a participant obtains a certificate.
2. Assign a certificate to a course
As a Trainer, you have the option to assign a certificate to your course. To do so, go to the editing or creation page of a course (if it's the first time you're creating it) at step 4.
Indicate the minimum time: This is a condition for obtaining the certificate.
Indicate the declarative time: This time is not the actual time spent on the course.
Fill in the course description and objectives.
Choose the certificate template.
Please note that this example is general; the information to be filled in will depend on the certificate template you have chosen.
