A catalog on Dokeos LMS allows you to group multiple training courses in one place, publish them, and make them accessible to platform users. You can also restrict access to certain user groups as needed. Follow this guide to create and manage a catalog on Dokeos.

1. Access the catalog feature

  • Log in to Dokeos LMS as an administrator.

  • In the left sidebar, click on "Catalog".

  • You will be redirected to a page where you can see all existing catalogs on your platform.

On this page, you will find the following options:

  • Edit: Click on the three dots next to each catalog to modify or delete an existing catalog.

  • Create a new catalog: Click on the "+" button to add a new catalog.

2. Create a new catalog

To create a new catalog, click on the "+" button. You will be redirected to a page where you need to provide several details.

Step 1: General information

  • Name: Give your catalog a name. This helps users understand its content.

  • Cover image: Choose an image to illustrate the catalog. This image will be displayed next to the catalog name.

Step 2: Select training courses

Select the training courses that will be part of this catalog. You can add multiple courses based on the theme or subject you want to address in this catalog.

Step 3: Catalog visibility

  • Make the catalog visible: This option allows you to make the catalog available to all platform users. If you activate this option, the catalog will be published and accessible to all users.

3. Configure catalog enrollment

You need to set the "Enrollment type" option to determine how participants can enroll in the catalog. The three available options are:

  • Standard enrollment: Users can view the catalog but must request enrollment. As an administrator, you can approve or reject their request.

  • Administrative validation: Users can see the catalog, but enrollment requires admin approval. You will need to manually validate each enrollment request.

  • No enrollment request possible: Users can view the catalog but cannot request enrollment or access the training courses. This is useful if you want to inform users about the catalog without granting them access.

4. Additional filters

  • Extra filters: This option allows you to use existing filters on your portal to define which user groups can see the catalog.

For example, if you have an HR group on your platform and the catalog is intended only for HR professionals, you can apply a specific filter such as "HR". Only users with this filter will be able to view the catalog.

Conclusion

Once all settings are defined, click "Save" to create and publish your catalog. It will be available based on the visibility and enrollment criteria you have selected.

Now, you have the ability to create personalized catalogs, add training courses, and manage enrollments flexibly to meet your users' needs.
