This tutorial explains how instructors, and group managers (if enabled by the administrator), can mark attendance for an in-person or virtual session. You will learn how to manage participant data, assign scores and comments, and provide assessment documents. Follow these simple steps to ensure proper session tracking.

Step 1: Log in to Dokeos LMS

Log in to your Dokeos LMS account as an trainer.

Step 2: Access the course page

  1. Navigate to the course page related to your session.

  2. At the bottom of the page, you will find all the modules included in the course.

Step 3: Open the in-person or virtual session module

  1. Locate the in-person or virtual session module.

  2. Click on "View Sessions" to display all sessions created for this module.

Step 4: Manage sessions

Next to each session, you will find five action buttons:

  • Enroll a participant – Click to add learners to the session.

  • Send an email to enrolled participants – Use this to communicate with attendees.

  • Mark attendance – Select this to check learner attendance.

  • Edit the session – Modify session details if needed.

  • Delete the session – Remove the session if it is no longer necessary.

Important Information

  • If learners are enrolled via a group, the group manager can create a session in an in-person or virtual module that is exclusively dedicated to their group. In this case, the group name will replace "Global" in the session list.

  • Learners must first be enrolled in the course before being added to a virtual classroom.

  • A learner can only be assigned to one virtual classroom per module.

Step 5: Mark attendance

  1. Click on "Mark Attendance" to access the participant list.

  2. You will be able to:

    • Check attendance for each participant.

    • Assign a score if applicable.

    • Upload an assessment document, if necessary.

Step 6: Export and save

At the bottom of the page, you will find two buttons:

  • Export attendance to an Excel file – Generate a report of participant attendance.

  • Save – Click to store all the information you have entered.

That's it for this tutorial! You are now ready to manage attendance for your sessions on Dokeos LMS!
