What Documents Are Required to Open an Account?

To submit a new account application, you’ll typically need the following:

1. Proof of Identity (POI)

  • Must be valid and issued within the last 10 years

  • Must clearly show:

    • Full name

    • Date and place of birth

    • Nationality

    • ID number

    • A clear photo

2. Proof of Address (POA)

  • Must be issued within the last 3 months

  • Accepted documents:

    • Utility bill (water, gas, electricity, landline)

    • Bank or credit card statement

    • Shared expense invoice showing the client’s name and address

  • Not accepted: Mobile phone, internet, or cable TV bills

3. Signed Account Illustration

  • Must match the account details submitted

  • Required signature from both applicants if it’s a joint account

4. Know Your Client (KYC) Information

  • Completed by the adviser

  • Includes details on:

    • Client background

    • Source of wealth

    • Source of funds

    • Financial objectives and risk profile

5. Any Additional Documents

Depending on the client’s country of residence, profession, or risk profile, additional CDD documents may be required.
